Old Goa Charch: Located on the banks of River Mandovi, Old Goa or Velha Goa (Velha pronounced as Vell-yea) means Old in Portuguese) was founded in the 15th century as a port town by the rulers of the Bijapur Sultanate. The town was captured by the Portuguese in 1510 and was the administrative of seat of Portuguese India. This town was known as “Rome of the East” thanks to its magnificent churches.Epidemics of malaria and cholera broke out in the 17th century and the place was abandoned by 1759. The capital was shifted to Panjim or Panaji which was then known as “Nova Goa” (Nova in Portuguese means new) is now the current capital of the state.

Dona Paula Beach: Dona Paula beach is located at a distance of 7 km from Panjim and popularly called the lovers’ paradise in Goa. The name of the beach has been kept after the then Viceroy’s daughter Dona Paula de Menezes who was believed to be madly in love with a fisherman. Her insane love for the fisherman drove her to jump off the cliff when the Viceroy refused to strike a marriage alliance between the two.

Chapora Fort: Chapora Fort located in Bardez, Goa, rises high above the Chapora River. The site was the location of a fort built by Muslim ruler Adil Shah called Shahpura, whose name the Portuguese altered to Chapora. It is now become a popular tourist spot and offers a view north across the Chapora river to Pernem, south over Vagator and also far out to the Arabian Sea in the West.

Aagoda Fort: Fort Aguada is a well-preserved seventeenth-century Portuguese fort, along with a lighthouse, standing in Goa, India, on Sinquerim Beach, overlooking the Arabian Sea. It is an ASI protected Monument of National Importance in Goa. The fort was constructed in 1612 to guard against the Dutch and the Marathas. It was a reference point for the vessels coming from Europe at that time. This old Portuguese fort stands on the beach south of Candolim, at the shore of the Mandovi River. It was initially tasked with defense of shipping and the nearby Bardez sub-district.

Dudhasagar waterfall: Dudhsagar Falls (lit. ’Sea of Milk’) is a four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the Indian state of Goa. It is 60 km from Panaji by road and is located on the Guntakal–Vasco da Gama rail route about 46 km east of Madgaon and 80 km south of Belagavi. Dudhsagar Falls is amongst India’s tallest waterfalls with a height of 310 m (1017 feet) and an average width of 30 metres (100 feet).
